Personal Worst

Well, it’s the second day of my retirement and I’m not bored yet. Yesterday was spent recuperating from our trip to Park City UT. How did I recuperate? By working on photos all day and not once taking a step outside. Today was an excursion to a local farm to pick up some vegetables and fresh eggs. Lunch out, and now back in front of the computer. I wanted to wrap up the year by sharing with you the worse received posts of mine. Yeah, the worst. Anyone can do the best of the year but you should know me by now. So, first, the least amount of likes all year goes to:

So, day 3:

I had been invited to participate in Judy Dykstra-Brown’s Seven Day Photo Challenge. Actually I wasn’t really invited, but had to beg Marilyn and shame her into extending an invitation to me. She is too much like me in that she does not like to impose so I, too, will not invite anybody to participate unless they tell me they want to join in. Anyway, the rules, which I’ve already violated, are as follows: “The challenge is one black and white photo from your own life each day for seven days. No people depicted, no words of explanation. Invite one other person to join each day.”

OK, so there you have it, the least liked post of mine from all of 2017. And now the least commented upon goes to:

Yup, the least amount of likes and the least number of comments.

Boy, you people are cruel.

Share Your World – December 11, 2017 – Repeat of Last Week

The undiscovered places that are interesting to me are these places that contain bits of our disappearing history, like a ghost town. ~~ Ransom Riggs

What household chore do you absolutely hate doing? Laundry. I hated laundry so much that the top drawer of my dresser was full of underwear- about a month’s supply. Same for my socks in the second drawer. Since Lynn has come into my life, we have been able to whittle those numbers down through attrition.

At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive? Just last night. In bed. But at three weeks shy of my 70th birthday, I’ve had to learn how to show passion in more tempered pursuits. Lynn doesn’t seem to mind.

How many times have you moved in the last ten years? My office has moved 4 times in the past 4 years. I guess my home has, too. And another move seems in the offing for next year. I will be retiring at the end of this month and we will be traveling as much as we can. The house is as good as sold and I received my passport last week.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Lynn always inspires me, though this week she had to take second fiddle to my new laptop. I had been using this old one for work, as well as for my processing, and it was moving slower and slower- just like me. So it had to be replaced. I hope the same fate does not befall me too soon.

The biggest cliche in photography is sunrise and sunset. ~~ Catherine Opie

I am sure not many have taken notice of my absence for the past two weeks. That is certainly understandable. I have stopped by to say I am not sure how long this will continue or whether or not I will come back. A lot has been going on in my life and in the world, and I find I can not muster the enthusiasm for WordPress that I used to have. Hopefully, by the new year I will have a better idea of what I intend to do besides travel and take photos. Please know that I appreciate those of you who have followed me over these past 5 or 6 years and that I miss those of you I have been able to connect with through comments and replies.
