List some of your favorites types of teas. My favorite type of tea? That would be coffee. I’ve never met a tea I liked. Really. We, as a nation, are mainly coffee drinkers. We take our coffee in 12 oz. heavy ceramic mugs. We do not, as a rule drink tea in china cups with matching saucers. OK, I know Cee does because she told me. On her site this morning in answer to this question. The rest of us drink coffee. Sometimes even with a shot of whiskey in it. Wakes you right up in the morning!

If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?

OK, that was easy. But you have to watch where you put the comma. It’s not “slow children, at play”. It’s “slow, children at play”!

What are a couple of things people could do for you on a really bad day that would really help you? Just listen and make appropriate facial expressions. No talking. No suggestions as to what you would do. Not even when I’m done.

Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: If you could be an athlete what would you do? I’ll tell you, ever since The Karate Kid, I wanted to be Ralph Macchio so I could beat the crap out of anybody who offended me. I know part of your training would probably include never fighting in anger or revenge. And nowadays you’d probably get shot because everybody seems to own a gun. But One can dream!

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? Last week was a shocking week all around and proves the adage that you never know how much time you have so live life to the fullest. A member of Lynn’s extended family was mountain biking, fell, and severed two vertebrae. He never regained consciousness and they took him off life support last Saturday. We are in Los Angeles now for his funeral tomorrow. Next week we are headed to San Diego for a wedding in which the entire family of the bride seems to be opposed to the groom. Now that should be interesting!

    1. Thanks! I’m the same about tea. I’ve had it when I’m sick but that’s about all. I had an English roommate in college who used to always drink tea. I would drink it to be sociable, but never really enjoyed it.

  1. I’m a strong, black coffee person myself…but I drink it from a bone china mug, no saucer…. Very sad to hear about Lynn’s relative

  2. Italian black coffee with a shot of anisette (thats how I roll). I have days when I wish everyone around me would just shut up, after all silence is golden. I don’t know why I said that I hate old sayings like cleanliness is next to godliness. If you look in the dictionary goggles is next to godliness ! In any case keep us posted on the wedding, I wish I could be a fly on the wall at that one 🙂

    1. I like anisette straight. Is goggles really next to godliness? I never looked. I’m hoping for some fireworks at the wedding next week but I fear everyone will be on their best behavior. I’ll keep you informed. But now that I looked at the calendar, the wedding might actually be two weeks away. I have to ask Lynn.

  3. Sorry to read about Lynn’s relative! And the wedding definitely sounds interesting. I’m a tea drinker and only drink coffee if it’s adulterated with something else, such as in a mocho or a cappuccino. Being a tea drinker would put me on Cee’s side, although I wish it put me on the seaside. However, I’ll be in Wyoming soon, so I’m good. As for the sign, the comma makes all the difference!

    Save travels.

  4. I don’t know why bother with china cups with matching saucers. When I have a bad day, I don’t talk and stay away from people.
Sorry to hear about the Lynn’s relative.
Thank you for sharing, Emilio. I really like this photo!

      1. I agree, communication is important for health relationship. Normally, when I calm down, maybe a day or days later, I then to the person (most of time, my husband) to express… 🙂

  5. I’ve been more of a tea drinker than coffee. I have maybe one latte a day. The milk disguises the coffee. 😀 When I was 12 I had my own tea pot and little cups.
Maybe you can take your new found Karate skills to the wedding next week.
Your family has really been through it this past week. Take care of yourselves.

  6. It sounds like Lynn’s family is taking a bit of an emotional beating lately – to put it mildly. My condolences for both the funeral and wedding. Marriages should be happy events that everyone looks forward to, not teeth-grinding affairs where everyone struggles to keep their negative feelings under wraps – or not.

Maybe a shot or two of that anisette that Joe suggested might help?

    1. And I have to have coffee to start mine. Lynn understands, though she has never had either coffee or tea. The relative was not by blood, but by marriage, so neither of us was really upset.- though she’s known him for ages. I did get choked up during the service, though, when his kids shared some memories.

  7. I was sorry to read the sad news about Lynn’s relative. A sad time for the family but the wedding will hopefully be more uplifting, even though the groom doesn’t appear to be Mr. Popular. The bride loves him and that’s the most important thing.
