Prompts and Challenges

Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold? Contrary to what most people think, it’s not always hot here in Las Vegas. Nor in Death Valley proper. One winter we even got snow here. Of course, that’s offset by the summer months when the temperature can get as high as 120 or so. I’ve lived in New York where the city gets shut down for snow and where we lost our home to hurricane Sandy, and now in Las Vegas, where rubber tires can melt from the heat and car batteries die unexpectedly before their time. So next life, how about Hawaii?

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself? How about hair. Period!

What is your favorite month of the year? I’m not sure I have a favorite month. It’s certainly not May because that’s the month when we got married and I’m always afraid of forgetting the date.

What is the easiest way for you to learn something new?  By reading, by seeing and doing, in a classroom? I hate learning new stuff. It’s been years since I went to school and my brain is full to capacity. But, OK, I think a combination of reading, then seeing and doing. I get bored in a classroom.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? I’m grateful that Lynn made it home safe and sound from a business meeting in L.A. This week we are meeting up with her sister and brother in law and vacationing in Zion, then on to Antelope Canyon. If there’s time, I also want to get to Monument Valley again!

Thanks as always Cee for all your challenges but especially this, my favorite!

  1. Can’t wait to see the results of your upcoming trip! I really want to get back to that part of the US, as I haven’t been there since I was a child. But for now, I’ll have to settle for France at the end of the month. I’ll try to survive and in the meantime, I’ll enjoy your shots (as usual.)

  2. I love the thought of living in Hawaii…….we visited there a few times many, many years ago. Maybe we could one day be neighbours? Or perhaps in another life? I did giggle about their hair, while I was complaining about mine I kept hearing my hubby in my head saying at least you have hair LOL. Have fun on the next trip, take lots of pics 🙂

    1. I went to Hawaii only once and it was one of the worst trips of my life- but it was the person I was with, not the place. Beautiful weather, beautiful beaches. But probably too expensive to retire to. For me.

  3. The kind of summer that makes tires melt. Now that is something and something not pleasant at all. It would cost quite a bit to replace. Also agree with you on hair. So long as we have hair 😀

  4. We wanted to go to Monument Valley last time we were in Arizona, but in the end, the long trip from Phoenix and the heavy snow in the mountains made it impossible. I hope you do make it! What a great trip!

    1. Both were very enjoyable. Lots of hiking but very soothing. Poor Lynn was not feeling well the entire trip and I left her this morning as she hobbled back into bed. I just texted her to see how she’s doing! 😦
