Faux Graffiti

DSCF5607-Edit-2Yes, I’m in a lousy mood today. Just some news that at any other time wouldn’t bother me as much. I feel like I’m in a slump emotionally and have no real desire to do much of anything. Hopefully this will not last long as we have house guests coming for the weekend (Lynn got back from China yesterday morning)and we will be celebrating our 4th anniversary this week. Trying to get tickets for Cirque de Soleil’s Love. It’s a great show. We’ve seen it twice already and they just revised it.

Anyway, I wandered out to the Las Vegas strip one day last week and found this faux graffiti at The Linq Hotel and Casino. That’s where the High Roller is and I call this faux graffiti because there is no way anyone could have done this uninvited. The strip is open 24 hours a day and there are always a couple of security people stationed here. But, even if it’s corporately sanctioned, it made me smile. So I posted it hoping that would get rid of my funk. But now that I look at it again, it’s not really helping.

Oh well, maybe it will bring a smile to your face.

  1. Sorry to hear you are in a lousy mood Emilio 😞 Happy anniversary to you and Lynn. The image is so vivid and crisp you can really tell these are Fuji colors. I agree this couldn’t have been done without The Linq Hotel knowing. Hopefully you will get out of your funk soon. My normal advice would be to get drunk (and I mean using your cuff links as curb feeler drunk) but that would probably depress you more so I say get trashed enough to keep a good buzz going for a few hours. Feel better my friend 😬

    1. Thanks, Joe. I did try getting a buzz on but that depressed me even more. Well, not really depressed me but made me even more silent- if that’s possible. I’m better now, though. Until the next bout. About 8 years ago the bouts of depression were even worse. Now they come just occasionally without a trigger of any kind. I’ve always believed its a chemical imbalance but, whatever it is, it’s very real.

    1. Thanks, Raewyn. They improve day by day, but then there are little setbacks. Like this morning I get into my car and it won’t start. I finally got it going but told my wife to keep her phone nearby. Just in case!

  2. So sorry, you’re in a funk. It’s not fun, but it will pass. Until then take care and one step at a time..or none. Whatever you need.
Happy Anniversary to you and Lynn and hope you get to see your show.
    Love the faux graffiti!!

    1. Thanks, Robyn. The show got more expensive by about 25% per ticket. But I guess it’s worth it. After all, it’s a once in a lifetime anniversary. Next year it will be our fifth. Better start planning now!

    1. Thanks, Joanne. I did find my smile. But now I have a headache. I think it’s because last night a storm rolled in and it’s been raining all through the night and hasn’t let up yet. A true rarity in the desert. (The rain, not the headache!)

  3. Had a bit of a rough day here, too, Emilio, but I’m feeling a bit better and hope you are as well. I had an active battle going on with technology today, but I’ve survived, thankfully. Think it might be time for a gin and tonic to go with the hockey game I’m watching. Happy 4th anniversary later in the week and may you and Lynn be blessed with many, many more healthy and happy ones!

    1. Janet, a gin and tonic sounds great. But hockey? I never could get into that game. On Monday nights I used to always go over to my grandfather’s house and watch football with him. But since he died last year, I’ve lost interest. In fact I don’t follow any sports lately. Makes me pretty boring around the water cooler! And thanks for the anniversary wishes! 🙂

        1. I just heard late last night that our company will not be staying at our house so yeah, I guess I am perky again. And no, they had nothing to do with it, really. They are here for two days, then traveling to a few southwest areas they’ve never been to. We’re going to catch up with them at Capitol Reef National Park on Thursday and then head to Moab UT, then on to Sedona AZ, with them!

  4. As I was reading through the comments to see if you recovered your smile, I had to laugh about locking Lynn in the closet.
    Did you let her out?
Seriously though, I hope you are feeling better and Happy 4th Anniversary!
