Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge- My Immigration Story

Prompts and Challenges

Lynne Ayers of Beyond The Brush Photography  invited me to take part in the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge.  Thanks, Lynne! The challenge is  to “post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”. Day 4:

My Immigration Story

My Immigration Story

My father was heading to work when the immigration was waiting for him. They had a warrant for him. They took him even though he has been living here for 40+ years. Now he can’t see his newborn grandson, nor me or my brother including my little sister. He paid all of his taxes and did everything by the books. I just can’t believe this is what we call justice in America. This isn’t the land of the free anymore. My father is my role model. He raised me and my older brother by himself. I just can’t believe how they can do this to an innocent man. He’s been in the immigration holding facilities for a year now! ~~ Alejandro’s Story

So now I’m supposed to invite someone else to join in the fun. That’s easy, I nominate Janet of This, That, And The Other Thing. No obligation, Janet!
