Once again, JannaT and EmilioP have collaborated to bring you a soul-searing Halloween tale to rival all others. No, we have never done a Halloween tale before- and I’m not even sure what soul-searing means. But this is maybe the 4th time Janna has taken one of my photos and made me look good. This time is no different. She does not disappoint as an author. Go find out for yourself and let me know what you think! Let her know what you think, too! Click on JannaT’s name and I will personally escort you to her site! Do not click on my name as it will just bring you back here!

  1. Once again, thank you so much for offering a photo for me to use as inspiration. I found this photo intriguing because of the contrast between the light reflecting on the grasses against the house that had obviously seen better days. Perhaps that’s how the good/evil them happened. I’m still not certain I pulled off the POV switch, but I appreciate your efforts in helping me get closer… it was fun to write this story!

I can’t wait to see what you throw at me for November. But don’t actually throw it… I don’t catch very well and it would just be embarrassing 🙂

      1. I think I took most of your suggestions (removing unnecessary, wordy phrases… I tend to get that way!) It’s possible I missed some of the removals with black strike-throughs because it was late and my eyes were really tired, but I tried to focus!

I didn’t do the change to present tense in the first paragraph of the third part because it bothered me to be begin the section in present tense and then switch back to past tense. I do think the present tense brought the reader closer to the story, which I tried to do with the other mods I made, while still keeping the same tense throughout.

I respect your editing skills, so I just wanted to explain why I “ignored” the changes I did 🙂

        1. No need to explain. Really. It’s your creation. With my photography, I love criticism. My ego loves compliments a lot more. But with the criticism, sometimes I listen and other times I tell myself, well, they missed the point of what I am doing! Or trying! No one will ever say “she had a terrible/great editor”. They will say “she did a terrible/great job”. So, ultimately, you have to go with your gut! And that’s my lesson for today! 🙂
